1. milonga

Length: 1 hour

Detail: Milonga is NOT just a quick tango. We will focus on the peculiarity of Milonga rhythms. What is “Milonga lisa” and “Milonga con transpie”? How does the way of walking change in Milonga?

2. vals

Length: 1 hour

Level: All levels

Detail: Vals – The particularity of Vals rhythms. How does the way of walking change in Vals? – “circular lines” in Vals

Time: Saturday, May 26th , 2018 @ 4:00 - 5:00pm

3. giros "circular movements- TYPICAL & unusual giros"

Length: 1 hour

Level: Intermediate/Advanced


  • Natural basis of the circular movements. Lead and Follow roles in Giros
  • Difference between leading a pivot and leading a giro
  • How not to be in a hurry and with that create speed of the movement.
  • Synchronization in the movements of the couple that produces velocity.
  • Interesting combinations of giros from the maestros.

The Instructors

JULIA GORIN and JONATAN BAEZ (Argentina) are professional dancers, teachers and choreographers.They dance and teach Tango Salon, also Tango Escenario (stage tango) and Argentine Folklore.

Jonatan has been dancing Argentine tango since 1996, and had danced Argentine folklore since he was eight years old. He also performed with the National Folklore Ballet of Argentina. He was the recipient of many prestigious dance awards, and winner of various regional and national competitions in tango and folklore. Julia has been dancing tango since 2000, and was studdying classical and modern ballet and music (f-no) since six years. She was also the founder of the tango community in Cyprus. Jonatan Baez & Julia Gorin have been dancing together since 2011.

Living in Buenos Aires, where they worked such tango shows, as the famous Café Tortoni, Añoranzas Tango, the legendary “Sabor a Tango”, "Tanguera", "Che Tango", and others, they perform at the most prestigious milongas (Salon Canning, Porteño y Bailarin, El Beso, Gricel, Sunderland, La Nacional, Confitería Ideal, La Baldosa, etc.), also with different orchestras: Color Tango, Los Reyes del Tango, Sans Sousi, Bajofondo, Sexteto Milonguero, Romantica Milonguera and many others.Jonathan and Julia have taught in such schools of Buenos Aires as "Asociación de Maestros Coreógrafos y bailarines de tango (Geba)", "La Floreada de Alejandra Mantiñan", La Escuela “Obelisco Tango”, La Escuela Argentina de Tango.

Jonatan and Julia are regularly touring with seminars, master-classes, performances and festivals all over the world. Their unique method of teaching is the quintessence of their experience not only in tango, but also in Argentine folklore, modern and contemporary ballet, jazz, drama theater, research in the field of conscious movement, dance therapy and their own developments.

There performing abilities are fascinating and diverse: they are equally inspiring, dancing elegant tango salon with very close embrace, or flamboyant stage tango shows, or argentine folklore. In their performances they are distinguished by mastery, sensuality and professionalism.
